The occurence of this event yesterday, that is on thursday the 19th left me flabbergasted......never have I witnessed such an event before....nor did i think that i was blessed enuf to witness an event of this magnitude !!
There were 5 of us....3 Indians and 2 Firangs, We were waitin for a rick to take us to some Godforsaken place on the outskirts of Whitefield(which in itself is an outskirt).
Most of the Autos that we approached, demanded double fare, however One auto dude (Auto raja in local lingo) agreed to take us to the place, he said he would take all 5 of us for 1.5 times the fare!! so we stuffed ourselves in the confines of the auto and reached our destination after a very bumpy 30 minute ride.
The meter showed 45 rupees, however we guyz were feeling very generous and decided to pay the guy 90 rupees: double the fare.
And here comes the bombshell....the guy REFUSED!! he said that he would not take a rupee over the initially decided amount of 1.5 X 45 = 68 rupees!!
We tried our best to convince him to take 90 rupees and he just refused. finally anti-bargained and reached a amount of 70rupees which he accepted.
NOW HAVE YOU BEEN IN OR HEARD OF SUCH A SITUATION BEFORE??

Hey Apporv even this happened with me on 18th May when I was going to Belgaum. I took an Auto and guess what he was also an "Imandaar Auto Raja" who took exactly what the meter showed. He was not having change of 2.50/-, then he went to a nearby shop and got the change and returned. I think there are few autowalas who are still "Imandaar".
